Obviously grand auto theft is a crime in the US, and the game has come under a lot of scrutiny since its launch in 1997; some argued that gamers will take the game to heart and attempt to carry out real thefts in the cities. The games's main character uses no weapons, just his hands, and he is extremely violent.
